TECH is registered with the Government of Sri Lanka
as a non-profit sharing Non-government organization
(Registered Number J/DS/VSS/2). TECH was initiated
by late Professor A.Thurairajah in 1992 to enhance
the quality of life for the people of Sri Lanka.

The TECH has expertise in the areas of agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, Development economics, soil conservation, environment and industrial development, financial planning, evaluation management, power and energy, food technology and rural reconstruction and resettlement.
It possesses the following past experiences
- Organization of the International workshop on Environmental Management at University of Jaffna in collaboration with both University of Jaffna and Eastern University, Srilanka and funded by UNDP and TEC France.
- Establishment of the Artifical Insemination Centre in Kilinochchi in collaboration with UNDP and TEC France;
- Establishment of the Iodized Salt Plant in Elephantpass , funded by UNICEF and GTZ;
- Establishment of the Integrated Model Farm with the Milk Processing Centre in Vaddukkachchi funded by TECH USA ;
- Providing Vocational Training in Kili TECH funded by ILO, FROUT, WUSC and TR TEC;
- Providing a course of study in Trinco funded by TR TEC and TECH Norway
- Income generation activities and revolving credit, funded by CARE;
- Rural Development Project, funded by CARE and FORUT
- Tree planting / Reforestation campaign project is implemented in Jaffna , Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu and Mannar districts funded by UNDP;
