Rasta school builds a chidrens home at Batticola

During 2006’s international week, Rasta Primary School raised an incredible amount of 59000 Kr. The raised sum was used towards building homes in Batticola. This included a library, as well as a PC room. The building was designed in mind to be an open home for ninety-two children, where the children were coming from the act of war and violence.

To mark the success of this project, TECH Norway organized a cultural evening extravaganza, whereby Norwegian school children held Norwegian/Tamil cultural program on 31 st May 2007. The chief guest at this event was Lorenskog Mayer Aage Tovan, and Rasta School’s Principal Marit Onstad Svendsen kindly gave the welcome speech. On this occasion, several Norwegian children and parents participated in this event.
