Work Shop on Importance of Library in Community development.

The first work shop on importance of Library was held at the college of Agriculture in Ariviyalnagar, Kilinochchi on 10.09.2007 at 10.00 am by Tech with the assistance of Japan TECH.

It is Known and observed considerably by some educated Persons in our community that the most number of younger generation is loitering around wasting time. The purpose of this workshop was in order to induce and introduce them the benefits of reading and the importance of Library.

This first work shop was presided by the Coordinator of Japan TECH Mr.J.Jayakmar. The President addressed the gathering and the students that Community and the Administration of library should join their hands in developing the community and improving the status of library. The traditional Lamp was lit by the library Assistant, University of Jaffna Mr.Ravi. The Director of Tech Mr.M.Suntharamoorthy gave an eloquent speech. Following him Mr.Ravi gave a Speech on Library management. In his speech he disclosed that where a library should be? How it should be maintained with its books and accommodations? And what other precautionary measurers must be taken to protect the whole assets. About 25 students and 15 villagers took part at this event.
