Boats handing over to Tsunami affected fisherman at Thalaiadi

The ceremony of the distribution of boats and fishing gears to fishermen of Vadamaradchy East region, who were affected by Tsunami was held by the Economic Consulting House on 15.05.2005.

The above donation was done with the magnanimous aid amounting to 6,5 million rupees given by a German Industrialist, by the name of Mr. Solomon. Fifteen beneficiaries were selected from Thalayady Vadamaradchy East.

The ceremony was launched by the secretary of the fisherman co-operative society, at 12.noon on 15.05.2005.

The German industrialist Mr. Solomon lighted the ceremonial lamp, along with deputy director fisheries Mr. Dharmalingham and Mr. Kugan director of fisherman co-operative society.

The national flag of Tamil Ealam was hoisted by deputy political wing leader Mr.Thangan . The opening speach was made by Mr. Sundaramoorthy, director of TECH. The deputy director fisheries Mr. Dharmalingham made the guest speech. The others who spoke on the occasion were political organizer for Vadamaradchy East Mr. Nilavan, planning and devolopment office Mr. Ranjan, German industrialist Solomon,Lambert, Frank & deputy Political wing leader Mr. Thangan.

The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Balasingham, General manger of the fisherman co-operative society.

Finally the donation of boats and fishing equipments were distributed to the 15 beneficiaries ,and the ceremony ended with a trial run of the boats.
