ILO funds computer centre in Mannar.

International Labour Organization (ILO) funded computer-training centre for Vellankulam area in Mannar was declared open on 25 January 2006 at 10 a.m. The centre provides timely opportunity for the Vellankulam residents for training in basic computer skills. "Computer technology has advanced rapidly and having computer skills opens up wide employment opportunities. Residents here should endeavour to make use of the facilities and should aspire to become independent wage earners," said TECH official Jeyakumar speaking at the event.

Mr Gunaras, Mannar district Director of Youth Development Organization, Mr Kanjanan, ILO’s External Affairs Officer, Mr Pathmathan and Planning Director, Muralitharan, participated in this event.
