Public Hall in Palampaasy at Mullaittivu district

There has been a long standing need among the people of Palampaasy, for a public hall to be built. The public hall will serve the purpose of holding cultural events, social gatherings and meetings, i.e. a place where the public can voice their opinions of how their community should be developed.

TECH took on board this must, and initiated the construction work for this hall. 900,000 Rs was donated by the UNDP for the construction of this building. The foundation stone was put in place on 9 th March 2006. This hall provides a great opportunity for the people of the villages to get together and be more socially active. A place where they can exchange their political, social and their individual views and problems. The venue can be rented out for family ceremonies, whereby the hall becoming a centre point for the people of the village.
