TECH Norway provides essential goods to improve the lives of North-East People

The Norwegian establishments donated many used PCs for people in the North-East region of Sri-Lanka. These PCs working conditions were checked, and upgraded by the TECH members and other Tamil Diasporas.

This project began, because the children of North-East Sri-Lanka have little access to PC, and hence have very limited knowledge in the world of computers. Their illiteracy in computing is a worry for the TECH organisation, and this is why this particular TECH project was set up. TECH feels it is their duty, to overcome this obstacle that the North-East people are facing.

This above project is essential, as good technology is needed in order for our nation to move forward. It is the weapon for success. However, saying this, other basic essential needs are still lacking. The North-East people are facing many problems, like a proper storage facility for the abundant milk being produced.

TECH has organised two used milk tanks. These tanks are from TINE Norway . This milk storing facility will bring so many perks to the people of North-East. It promises a stable income for those running the milk industry.

People in the North East, still use very primitive tools. TECH recognised this, and donated tools that will help carpenters and plumbers in their roles. These tools were donated by the Tamil Diasporas and are used tools, but all in top conditions.

Other additional donations made by TECH, include English books for higher education. Again, these books were essential, as the supply of books in this area is very limited. All the above projects and items were safely packed by volunteers of the Tamil Diasporas, with the leadership and guidance of TECH members.

TECH continues to recognise the essential needs of the people of North-East, and is doing an excellent job of delivering items that make an improvement to their lives.
