TECH awards diplomas and launches a Tailoring course

 In Odduchudan , TECH awarded diplomas to their fellow students on 03 Sep 2005, who achieved the completion of their computer training courses. During the same period, a tailoring training centre was launched by TECH, who continues to set up many skilled centres that they can manage. In the opening of this training centre, Mr. Mugundan hoisted the Tamil Eelam National flag. Japan TECH contributed six sewing machines, worth 300,000 Rs, to this training school.

Odduchudan ’s Assistant Government Agent spoke in his speech about Ottisutan. He made it known to the audience that Odduchudan is a very rural and undeveloped area in Tamil Eelam. During the early days, the students had to travel to Puthukoodiyrippu, in order to learn computer skills. Now, with the help of TECH, the opening of this school would encourage many more pupils to begin and continue classes in computing, without having the worry of travelling far. To date, there are many students who have graduated from this school, and have commented that the course is excellent.

Simultaneously, the tailoring centre also brings benefits to the unemployed. It provides training in a specialised skill, that will lead to employment, and hence a stable income, which many are unable to achieve.

TECH chairman Professor A. Navaratnaraja, requested on his speech that TECH administration should continue to organise other technical training centres, which would specialise in various other skills, so as to develop the people of Odduchudan , TECH’s contribution through these projects is the step forward required to develop our country.

TR TEC organised solar panels to provide to the people of Odduchudan , on a loan basis. Seven people were issued with these solar panels. In this occasion, London TECH Mr. Vasanthar and Mr. Kunabalasingham, TECH director Mr. Sugunan, Canada TECH Mr. William and Mr. Sathithasas presented the solar panels to the seven people.
